Engineer New Manufacturing/Machine Shop

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting and optimizing machine shop operations for precision manufacturing. This role focuses on process development, CNC machining support, tooling, quality improvement, and production efficiency while ensuring safety and compliance with engineering requirements 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes for machine shop operations using CAD/CAM software and CAM programming tools.
Operate and program CNC machinery including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and press brake machines to produce precision parts.
Read and interpret detailed blueprints, GD&T specifications, and technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication.
Conduct quality control inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues on equipment, perform basic maintenance, and suggest improvements for efficiency.
Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying waste reduction opportunities and implementing best practices in machining and assembly processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on product development, tooling design, and process improvements.
Performs other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Education and/or work experience Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, mechanical, or industrial Engineering
• Proven experience in manufacturing or machine shop environments with hands-on skills in CNC
programming (CNC milling machines, CNC lathe), machining, fabrication, and assembly.
•Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T principles, CAM programming, and mechanical design.
•Experience with lean manufacturing principles and warehouse operations is highly desirable.
•Ability to operate precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers accurately.
•Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations, and process adjustments.

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
• Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
